Tour of Houses Of Parliament & boat trip to Greenwich 20 August 2026

We have arranged a tour of the Houses of Parliament. The Houses will be in recess so it will include the House of Commons, the House of Lords and its most iconic places, which should be fascinating to those interested in democracy, history and democracy.

The tour will be in 2 groups and an hour long starting at 10:00 am and 10:30am. These are the only possible times and the only date available.

After the tour, we have allowed a couple of hours when you can explore the local area if you wish, Downing Street, Whitehall. National Portrait Gallery, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Green Park are all less than a 15 minute walk from the Houses of Parliament.

We will then take an hour long cruise from Westminster Pier, located by London Bridge, next to the Houses of Parliament, to Greenwich.   There will be live commentary about London’s history and the passing landmarks such as Shakespeare‘s Globe, HMS Belfast, the Shard,, Tower of London, canary Wharf, etc. There is indoor and outdoor seating with toilet facilities on board, drinks and nibbles are also available for a CASH payment.

We dock at Greenwich pier near the Cutty Sark. Here we also allowed a couple of hours to explore the National Maritime Museum (free), the Cutty Sark (£23), the Painted Hall in the Naval College (£19), Royal Conservatory (prime meridian line viewing free), and Greenwich Indoor Heritage Market etc.

The coach will collect us from Greenwich.  Map of the area to be provided.

WE HACE DECIDED THAT ANY PROFITS FROM THIS TRIP WILL BE DONATED TO THE FRIENDS OF FAIRFORD AND LECHLADE COMMUNITIES.

COST: £45 includes Parliament tour, the river cruise and the coach.

DEPARTS:  07:30am opposite New Jubilee Antiques Hall on Oak Street, near the New Memorial Hall

DEPART WESTMINSTER PIER: 2.00pm

ARRIVE GREENWICH: 3:00pm

DEPART GREENWICH:  5:00pm

ARRIVE LECHLADE: approximately 7:30pm, depending on traffic!
